To ensure the safety and comfort of all clients, it is mandatory for every new client to book a patch test at least 24 or 48 hours prior to their scheduled Tinting, Lash Lift & Brow Lamination Treatment. This patch test is essential for identifying any potential sensitivities or allergic reactions to the products used during the procedure.

In the UK, Patch Testing is not simply a formality—it is a legal and insurance requirement for any treatment involving the application of a chemical tinting product.

Why Is Patch Testing Necessary?

Legal Requirement: Patch Testing must be conducted before any chemical tinting treatment can take place. This is mandated by UK law to ensure client safety.

Insurance Validity: Insurance providers for beauty treatments will only grant coverage if a patch test has been performed within the correct time frame, and the policy is properly implemented.

Client Safety: Reactions to chemical products may develop over time. It is essential to carry out a Patch Test at least 24 or 48 hours before treatments such as Tinting, Lash Lift, and Brow Lamination.

Recurring Patch Test: Even regular clients may develop reactions over time. If your last treatment was more than 6 months ago, a new Patch Test must be booked 24 or 48 hours before your next treatment.

Regular Treatments: For clients who receive Tint, Lash Lift, or Brow Lamination treatments regularly, with intervals no longer than 5 months and no reactions observed, the date of the last treatment will be considered as a naturally recurring Patch Test.

Treatment Lapse of 6 Months: If it has been over 5 months since your last Tint, Lash Lift, or Brow Lamination treatment, a Patch Test must be conducted 24 or 48 hours before your next appointment.

How Often Should You Have a Patch Test?

If more than 6 months have passed since your last booked treatment at our salon, you will need a new Patch Test.

You are on any medications not previously prescribed since your last treatment.

Your medication has changed since your last treatment.

If you have experienced a major health event since your last treatment, a new Patch Test is required.

What to Do If Any Changes Have Taken Place

All clients will be asked about changes to their health or medication. If any changes are identified, a new Patch Test will be carried out BEFORE proceeding with the treatment.

If you are a regular client and changes have occurred, please contact us or book your new Patch Test as soon as possible, even if you do not have a scheduled treatment.

If you are a regular client and are planning a treatment, ensure you book your Patch Test 24 or 48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment.

Salon Product Change

If we switch products, if the manufacturer or supplier reformulates their product, or if we change to a new supplier or manufacturer, we will notify you and invite you to return for a new Patch Test.

Ad Hoc Patch Test

If you are visiting Maidenhead, you are welcome to drop by the salon at any time during opening hours for a Patch Test. Unless we are busy, we will be happy to accommodate you and carry out an ad hoc Patch Test.

If you are a regular client, please allow approximately 15 minutes for a quick consultation and completion of the Patch Test.

If you are a new client, please allow 30 minutes, as you will need to complete a full Consultation Form before the Patch Test is performed.
