Peels

Peels are designed to improve the texture and appearance of skin using well designed, high-strength acids to gently exfoliate the skin to reveal a brighter, younger-looking complexion. Some peels have a range of time release chemicals of different strengths and compositions to target different skin concerns such as blemishes or pigmentation. These pioneering and innovative range of peels are one of the most modern medical treatment available.

To ensure that you receive the maximum benefit of a peel, an accurate pre-peel consultation is imperative to ensure the treatment is carried out safely and that post treatment recovery time is as minimal as possible.

We want you to have healthy, smooth, radiant, younger looking skin and to achieve this we would like all our clients to follow the procedures below. Many of these procedures are MANDATORY and we make no exceptions. We will NOT carry out your peel treatment unless you have followed our procedures.

• PRE-PEEL CONSULTATION
  THIS IS MANDATORY AND MUST BE DONE 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO YOUR BOOKED TREATMENT.
  A full in-depth consultation will help us identify contraindications, understand your skin, discuss your skincare goals and answer any queries you may have.
• PATCH TEST.
  THIS IS MANDATORY AND MUST BE DONE 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO YOUR BOOKED TREATMENT.
  Depending on which peel we are going to undertake after your consultation, we will carry out a peel patch test. If irritation occurs within 24 hours of the patch test, we will not carry out the treatment.
• PRE-PEEL SKIN PREPARATION.
  THIS IS MANDATORY AND MUST BE DONE 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO YOUR BOOKED TREATMENT.
  Clinical results have shown that the use of topical Vitamin A and C prior to and post treatment not only maximises the results but speeds up the healing time and reduces possible post peel complications. You will be advised on what products to use and shown how to use them correctly. You MUST use these products as directed for a minimum of 2 weeks before the treatment.

We Will Not Carry Out The Peel Treatment Unless You Have Done So.

• POST TREATMENT CARE
  You will be advised which products to use post treatment and how you can start to integrate the other recommended products into your daily skincare routine.
  Don’t book your treatment if you have just returned from a holiday in the sun where you have been sunbathing. You cans start using the recommended products immediately, but must wait for 2 weeks before booking your peel appointment.
  • Don’t expose your skin to the sun whilst you’re awaiting your treatment and wear an SPF 30+ pre and post-treatment. Use the recommended SPF product.
  •  Don’t use any type of exfoliant for a week following your peel.
  • Don’t use cleansers that contain AHA’s or BHA’s (such as Surface Radiance Cleanser), for at least 3 days post treatment.
  • Don’t use facial sponges or wash/face cloths post treatment.
  • Don’t wear any make-up for a minimum of 12 hours post treatment.
  • Don’t apply any self-tan for at least a week post treatment.
  • Avoid saunas, swimming and exercising for at least 24 hours post peel.
  • Treat the skin gently when cleansing and avoid over rubbing.
  • Allow the skin to peel naturally – do not pick at or peel off the flaky skin.
  •  Minimise sun exposure and wear an SPF every day applying it generously even when it’s cloudy.
  •  If you are unsure about any of the above or have other concerns, call the salon.
• COURSE OF TREATMENTS
  You will achieve noticeable results after just one peel but Medik8 recommend a Course of 6 to really see the long-term skin benefits. Medik8 have created a 12 Weeks to WOW programme. This is a personal training for your skin that will, with the help of your Therapist, visibly transform your skin through a bespoke programme of in-salon treatments and at-home care. • SKINCARE PRODUCTS Having a regular skin care routine will also go a long way to ensure your skin remain hydrated, looks fresh and feels fabulous. We will show you how to create a skincare routine that is specific to your skin, unfussy and easy to implement. Not only will you save money in the long term but you will no longer be tempted to buy unnecessary products. Furthermore, we will help you monitor the improvements to your skin by inviting you to attend our salon Skin Analysis Event.You will be advised what products to use and how to use them prior, during and post treatment and how you can start to integrate them into your daily skincare routine.
• NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS
  We believe that great skincare starts from within and the Advanced Nutrition Programme™ nutraceuticals are designed to provide optimum daily amounts of vitamins, minerals and other vital elements to support a healthy lifestyle, skin, hair and nails. These supplements contain only the finest ingredients, are easily absorbed by the body and will play a vital role in helping to maintain a glowing complexion. We will recommend particular nutritional supplements to ensure your post recovery and overall wellbeing remain optimal.PLEASE NOTE: Advanced Nutrition Programme™ products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Before recommending a particular product, we will conduct a thorough consultation and where applicable suggest you seek formal medical advice before taking these supplements.
• PRODUCTS PURCHASED FROM OTHER SOURCE
  We will not offer advice on products bought elsewhere even if they are the same brand as those sold at our salon. We recommend that you return to the seller for advice.
• POST TREATMENT COMPLICATIONS
  If you use or switch products form a brand not recommended by us or sold at our salon prior, during or post treatment, we will NOT be responsible for any complications that may occur or any dissatisfaction you may express with the results post treatment.
